CASA DE CULTURA MARIO QUINTANA
The building that shelters the Casa de Cultura was the Hotel Majestic where
the great Brazilian poet Mario Quintana lived for years. This building was built
in the beggining of 20th century in barroco style. When restored in 1990, it
became one of the main cultural
centers in Porto Alegre.
In Casa de Cultura Mario Quintana there are lots of exhibitions and workshops going on. There are movie theaters, theaters e libraries.
