ADO MALOGOLI ART MUSEUM OF RIO GRANDE DO SUL (MARGS)

The art museum of Rio Grande do Sul was open in 1974 in the building that used
to be port customs. And in 1998, this building was restored, for a modernization
and to prepare the museum to receive big exhibitions.
Ado Malagoli, that give his name to the museum, began to set up the heap of paintings. The museum heap has works of art from Pedro Weingärtner, Di Cavalcanti, Cândido Portinari, Lasar Segall and Iberê Camargo. In the main pinacotheca, which has a beatiful stained glass window, are the big exhibitions and the permanent displays of art. On the first floor are located the small and temporary exhibitions. In the building there is also a pleasent bistrot and a café.
