MONUMENTS

Monument of Laçador, located in the entrance of the city and in the front of the Salgado Filho Airport, represents the gaúcho (people that born in Rio Grande do Sul). It is made of bronze and was open in 1954.
Monument of Açoriano, for the first european that settle in Porto Alegre. They were from the island of Azores (Portugal).
Fontain Talavera de La Reina donated by the Spanish Kingdom in 1935 for the 100 years celebration of the Farroupilha's revolution. Located next to the point marking the center of the city.
Monument Júlio de Castilhos, in the Matriz Square , opened in 1913.
